RTX 2080 ti crashes

L2 is an engineer so they are probably asking someone that knows more about the card to possible figure it out and offer a fix. Thats really weird that the cpu would do that after turning mce off cause all it does is make the cpu run at the intel clock speeds.

Well after changing everything back to normal, I can no longer play any type of game that requires 3D Graphics. Every game I have tried has crashed the second it attempts to load something. Any help? Nothing works anymore and all settings are back to the same as before, is it possible that I have broken the card by stress testing it too much?

Anyone able to help, so I can actually get to a somewhat playable state?

Well, it does seem like the progression of the problem which led to no function at all in 3D suggests some kind of hardware degradation in my mind. Changing all the settings may just have been passing time for you while the inevitable result came to be. If that's the case, then nVidia should cover you for the hardware problem (is it FE, or a third party card?). I guess your only options are to wait for them to respond or start from scratch. If this is an upgrade, do you have your old card? You could try it again and see if your system is stable with the 2080 ti out of the picture. Then, swap the 2080 ti back in. Maybe before that I would double check all hardware related issues by pulling the card, making sure the slot is free of dust, reinstalling it, and repatching the power cables. If you had a bad connection somewhere, this could fix that kind of problem. How's your case's airflow? I'm wondering if there was a problem with thermals. Were you monitoring temps? 3d mark saves that info, so let us know what those temp graphs look like or post the images here if you can.

All Temps are perfectly fine and below 65°C and airflow is great. The card is FE and this is the second card they have sent out to me, the last RTX 2080TI was getting constant Black & White Checkerboard patterns and now this one is just not working anymore. Yesterday it was able to play games with 1 crash but now it just doesn't work with even the smallest of games.
I also know when I put in my old Titan X (Maxwell) it works perfectly fine but it can't be a faulty card Again!! can it.

Why is the graphics card slowly degrading over time though, that's what I don't understand.

I dont know why it would be degrading. It seems possible that when you stress test it might "fry" something because it seems like if it happens once it only gets worse.

I have a Templarius Imperator 1150w, its worked perfectly fine with all the other cards I've had.
Also, I just went through the whole process of uninstalling everything and reinstalling and still the same problem. When I play any time of 3D Game, the second it loads it instantly crashes, I can hear what is happening in the background but then crashes. The only type of games I can run are flash games.

Well, how far do you want to go? I mean, next thing you could try is Windows repair and if that doesn't work then do a clean install of Windows and nVidia drivers. If you go that route, of course you will also have to reinstall all your programs/games again.

EDIT: Looking up some info on your PSU, doesn't look like the best of brands. How old is it? Do you have a spare psu to swap out or one you could borrow?

Morning everyone. So I recently installed EVGA Geforce RTX 2080Ti XC Ultra and been having the EXACT same crash that Clyde777 was experiencing for 2 days now. I was mind blown by the pictures you took. The characters and everything LOOK exactly the same. I have I7 7700K, EVGA 850 G2. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times. I finally opened up my case and kind of re plugged everything. Which I kind of can play a little longer than an hour etc but then I get the same characters and crash as well. I previously had a 1070 which worked PERFECTLY. I'm hoping this is a driver issue... or Im going to have to RMA. Just kind of crazy how everyone has different Ti but same problem...

So, just got back from my friend's house and tested the graphics card on his computer and it does the exact same thing, the second it tries to load any type of 3D Graphics it crashes. So most likely will have to RMA this one again and get my third graphics card and see what happens.

Is it possible that somehow my computer would be damaging the card over a small period of time? All my parts in the computer are branded parts and my old Titan X (Maxwell) works fine.

So this morning I updated my BIOS and instead of having 32gb RAM moved down to 16gb. If it crashes Im going to RMA. Last resort. Will update if anything happens.

If you can piginmyhouse when you get the next card I would first test it at your friends house with his pc to see if it happens again. That way if it does then I would say nvidia is doing something wrong with these cards and if it does work and then doesn't in your pc then you will know its your pc causing issues. However I dont think that would be the case since your titan works fine with yours and my 1080ti works fine with mine.

Well, I just bought a new PSU, am going to test that on a new 2080ti (If they send me one) and see what happens but I will first test it at a friends house for a couple of hours.

Also, I was talking to my local PC shop and they said that lots of people are having this problem on some forum post somewhere and apparently Nivida have said on that forum post that they recognise the problem and will fix it for the next drivers but I can't find this forum post that they were talking about.

you may want to get your money back from evga and go with another aib partner gpu. evga has had eng issues with there 900/1000 gpu. on the 800 they needed firmware and new coolers do to over heating vrm. on the 1xxx gpu they had a few card catch on fire from vrm issues. on evga they may be over volting the gpu like the 700 cards were and go caught from nvidia from doing it.

Mine does exactly the same thing with white characters on the screen. RMA or try tweaking it?

Tried it in another computer (instead of 980Ti, which worked just fine), and got a black screen on boot, which I cannot fix. Seems like the card refuses to work in two otherwise fine computers, so I'll RMA it. Bummer - I really do not have time for this.
