I have been using Aorus 2080 Xtreme since late 2018, but now i have realized in 4K the lastest AAA games don't work well will ultra high settings, with ray tracing it's even worse and because of my budget as well the shortage of GPUs, most high tier Gpus like 3080, 3080Ti and 3090 are insanely expensive. I have decided to buy a Zotac 3070Ti Amp holo as it is the only decent card locally available in new.

My question is not the obvious i know the 3070ti is better but is it worth upgrading ? And how much performance boost i am see after upgrading. Thanks

In order to answer properly, we need full system specs, but I am just gonna say it even before you do that. It's not worth it.

It's gonna be a bump for sure but it's not going to justify the money spent on it for the performance difference. Generally it's not a good idea to upgrade from a previous series to the next. It's always better to skip one.

You can always tone down some settings till next series as the 2080 is a very capable card. If you do have your mind set on upgrading, the bump depending on the game should be somewhere between 18% and 30%. That of course if you have a capable cpu, ram and PSU.

I generally recommend upgrading every other generation.

Upgrading just one generation and too a tier lower, I would not.

Just lower your settings a bit. I very much doubt you will even notice. There are alot of setting optimization guides out there for games which can improve game performance by like 25% without noticeable change in picture quality.

A 3070ti is not going to do good a ultra 4K settings either.

I would just turn the settings down their about 0 difference in Ultra and High that you can even see. Turn a few other settings down a bit also .

I have a RTX 2080 as well and also game at 4k, so I get what you're saying. I also feel a need to upgrade, but the RTX 3070 Ti just isn't a very good upgrade. With only 8 GB of VRAM and only a 20-30% boost in performance at an expensive price tag, it's just not really worthwhile. Now, if the 3070 Ti came with more VRAM than the RTX 2080, then I'd feel like there was some longevity that could be had in the 3070 Ti. But with the only advantage being a slight boost to compute performance, the smartest thing to do right now is to dig in and wait for prices of the GPU we really want (3080/3080 Ti) to come down to reasonable levels.
