Build Advice RTX 3070 Build for 1080p Gaming – - thoughts on my choice of components ?

Hello everyone,

After a lot of thought, I’m planning to upgrade my PC, keeping only my MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 2X and my SSD. The components I've chosen so far are listed here:

I plan to purchase the Lian Li A3 mATX case in a couple of months, as soon as it becomes available again where I live. For now, I'll be reusing my Thermaltake Chaser A31. I would like this case (A3 m-atx) since I will need to move at one point next year and this micro atx build seemed like a good (and cheap) alternative to a mini itx setup.
I indeed wanted to assemble a mini itx build but it seems like finding cheap component is not easy and in general not ideal to build a cheap mini itx gaming computer.

I already have a 750W PSU, but unfortunately, it’s the CX750W (green sticker). I assumed it would be better to swap it out—am I correct? I initially considered the NZXT C750W Gold Plus (for around 90 euros), but I was advised to go for a 3.1, so I ended up looking at the Enermax Revolution DF 850W.

Thank you in advance for all your suggestions!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Your build looks fine. I would update the BIOS to the latest version after first POST. You will need to reinstall the OS due to the platform change.

Yes the green labelled units are actually worth residing in a dumpster since they are horrible units.

What kind of a budget have you set aside for your build? What is this build going to be used for? You might want to mention the titles and/or app's you want to tax the system with as well.

Thank you for the comment and moving my post to the correct sub forum.
I don't really have a budget cap, but I didn't wanted to exceed the 700/800.

In particular I want to move to the AM5 platform in order to upgrade later on to the latest x3d that will come out for that platform. So I wanted a cheap(ish) chip that could handle 1080p 60FPS games for a couple of years without having to turn down graphics settings (I play mainly single players titles). I use it as a working machine as well (for programming), but I'll buy a dedicated machine for that.

But when I swap chip I will probably use it for work as well, since the machine I'll be using now will be given back to my university at the end of my research. I wanted a small build since next year I'll have to move for 12 month in Germany and I wanted to bring my PC with me, so I figured that this build would be perfect for my use case.

I made minor changes, to get you better cooling, and a bit more headroom PSU wise.
