Hello,

I recently installed an EVGA FTW3 RTX 3070 in my PC. I was able to run the BIOS using the DisplayPort, however it does not respond when I try to boot the system normally. It still works when I plug it in through my motherboard. My HDMI connection works, so I have no idea why the DisplayPort does not work properly. I also tried to update the NVidia drivers too. For reference, I am using a Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 motherboard.

Thanks :)

Prior to the EVGA RTX 3070, what GPU were you working with? Can you also list the specs to your build? Make and model of your monitor?

As an update, I tried switching out the motherboard to a MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4 motherboard, and I still have the same issue with the DisplayPort. The connection works fine through the graphics card in the BIOS, but it just does not work when I am running the PC normally. I am not sure if this is the issue, but I found that some of the metal contacts might be damaged? I am not sure but I included some photos here:

Hello.

Has it worked well for you now?

It seemed like when I was younger as a tech that there was a way to clean the contacts. One trick was to use an eraser on a pencil to clean them. I one time did a call to a tech in Hawaii which was very interesting. I’m from the US mainland but was checking on something late at night and figured it was the afternoon in Hawaii.

Anyway, the guy talked to me for a few minutes and one thing he said they would have issues with there was salt. Since they are obviously on islands surrounded by ocean water he would get systems coming in with errors and would sometimes have to reseat ram etc. However one trick he mentioned was using jewelry cleaner on the contacts, like what you’d buy at a jewelry counter for example in a Walmart etc.
