Hi there. I have had a growing concern over the performance of my brand new RTX 3080 Founders since buying. Userbenchmark reports my card performing below expected (https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/42876110), in GTA V Online I'm seeing an average framerate of 80fps on 1080p minimum settings - way below an expected framerate, and FurMark testing sees the framerate decrease over the first minute (potentially because of GDDR6X hitting 110 celsius?) GDDR6X temps sit at 90 celsius GTA V but hits 110 in FurMark, I'm considering doing the thermal pad mod to try and improve the potential throttling. Just looking for any help on whether something is wrong with the card or if I'm worrying too much.

Thanks

Any links to a known issue with the FE, I haven’t seen any. I’m running a Gigabyte 3080 and the VRM’s when gaming stay under 90c even during prolonged gaming. However when I tried some mining I could only keep it under 95c (Mixron’s maximum for GDRR6X) by lowering vram speed, reducing the power limit and and setting fans to >90%
Of course, here’s some links I looked at a little while ago:

These mostly concern the high temperatures when mining but it also applies...

That’s too hot. The 3080 needs very good airflow. What case are you using and what is the fan setup?
Case is a Corsair 465X, 3 intake 3 exhaust fans, airflow could not be better. I believe there is an issue where all 3080 Founders VRAM overheats to 110 degrees celsius which I fear could cause the issue in some cases.

These mostly concern the high temperatures when mining but it also applies to some games too. Generally if you just search ‘3080/3090 vram high temperatures’ you can see lots of proposed solutions, information etc
