hi, im going to be building a new high end gaming desktop with the new rtx 2080 video card,
now i use this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-24-inch-LED-lit-Monitor-response/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1547767955&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+144hz
the rtx card only has dp 1.4 and hdmi 2.0 or 2.1, and my old pc 's gpu has a dvi port that i use to connect to my monitor and get the 144hz. now im just a bit confused as to what cables/adapters il need to connect my monitor to my new rtx card and get the 1080p 144hz.

Solution
According to this page -- https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/VG248QE/ The displayport input on that monitor supports 144hz. Just use a displayport on the new graphics card. If you don't have a 1.4 displayport cable, then buy one when you buy the rest of your components.
