If I can make my desktop not look like a mad house gone wrong with ugly tiles, 9 might be interesting (esp if they keep with their typical cycle), but I want to see how it goes first, I wasn't impressed with 8, it has nothing I need in it.
9 better have excellent compatibility (critical point), some better customization (though that can be done 3rd party if needed) and let me shut Cortana up, I might try it, cortana does sound interesting, but since I'd bet if they bring any of their 1st party titles to PC, it will be locked to 9 and DX12, it might be worth it. MAYBE.

The desktop in Win 8 is just like the desktop in Windows 7, the tiles are on the start screen !!!! And once you get to use them for a while you`ll understand that they are more functional than a stupid start menu, you just press Start and you`re one click away from starting your App.. unlike a start menu where you have to navigate a narrow path to get to your program. Grow up already, stop hating for no obvious reason. As for Cortana they clearly said it will be a User started program. Don`t go the path of Windows 98 users that hated Windows XP... you`ll look stupid over the years.
And for the guy who cries that he suffered 30 years because of Microsoft... dude .. build your own OS if you`re so picky about it, this way nothing will ruin your life and you`ll eventually be the head of a billions of dollars worth of company.
The only thing i hate about new OS releases is why the hell do they have to be so big ???? Is not about drive space storage ... is about how big it s and WHY ? Don`t tell me as a gamer or editor i use all of those 25 GB worth of installation ....
In fact this would be an awesome idea ... to have a stripped down windows that has the minimum stuff to be able to run games / movies / browse.. the rest just throw away.
