[citation][nom]Camikazi[/nom]If Win 95 is doing everything they need, why upgrade? Not everyone needs the newest OS unless there is a feature that only the new OS has. Not everyone has a comp that can comfortably run Win 2000 and Win XP is the best choice without spending money for what will end up being no reason.[/citation]
Fixed that for ya, seeing as the same arguement existed 10 years ago and were as pointless then as they are today.
No one ever forced you to upgrade, but when everyone else you know is playing DX11 games, natively playing Blurays and browsing with IE9 it's amazing how quickly people find an excuse to upgrade.

If win 8 is really more suitable to mobile platforms, it may? mean that it is lighter than win7... Would anyone be happy of having windows that do all things win7 does and have smaller memory reguirements etc...
... but yeah we don't have any proof that win8 would be like that. The support for mobile devices would support that theory, but does not guarantee it.

I am done with buying retail windows and building computers. My next home computing device will be a mac of some sort, likely a mac mini. With the increasing ghz cpu power years ago, it was worth it to build computers, now it's not, because the cpu power seems irrelevant with day to day applications. I wont be fooled into thinking a new 24 core cpu will open my mail application any faster.

Have fun with your future 1 button mouse 😀

Y'all saving your money for rigor mortus? Or you just don't have any? $100, $200, or even $300 once every 3 or 4 years ain't going to amount to more than loose change. How much you spend on your other hobbies? No, I haven't upgraded from XP because I just don't need it. Maybe I will some day just out of boredom. Computers are pretty boring anyway. But most boring of all is this eternal discussion about a couple of bucks!
