Hello, I was wondering if I could run two 5770's in crossfire with a bfg 550w power supply. I only use one hard drive, and one cd/dvd writer/player drive. I also use a amd athlon x4 635 witch doesnt take that much power up. Thanks.
Which BFG 550W do you have? I would think it would be alright. The 5770 doesn't take all that much juice. I believe the crossfire requirements are 600w but if its a solid unit you will be alright. That is total system wattage to.
Also, would this be better than a cooler master eXtreme 600w psu? it is only 5 dollars more, but 70% efficiency and the quality isnt as good i dont think.

If you haven't bought either of these power supplies yet they are not the optimal choice. Either would probably be alright but for an essential component like the power supply you should go for a respected brand like Corsair or Antec if at all possible.
^ That is very true. I was just really answering the ops question.
If you are buying from newegg, this would be a better option. Has a $10 promo code making it $50. My buddy bought a few of these for builds, and they are great.
Hmm... thanks much for the advice. I am looking to play games such as mw2, cod4, battlefeild bad company 2 (idc if its the highest settings - just averagely high). With one 5770, should I be fine with my current setup (athlon x4 635, 4gb g.skill 1600mhz, 5770, cf ready mobo)? I was thinking to get another 5770 soon but I thought about it and I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Should I go with a good quality PSU that is about 450-500w then? (my budget for a psu is abour 40-60$).
