run maxtor onetouch 4 plus on windows 10

I want to use an old Maxtor external hard drive on a Windows 10 laptop. Previously used the drive as a place to download Dish Network movies. I can see the drive in the device manager but cannot see it in the file manager.

Do you need to save any data from the drive or do you just want to wipe it and start fresh?

Start fresh. I don't need what is currently on it.

If you can see the disks in 'diskpart' then you could perform a clean function.

Be careful - read what diskpart can do first - you can accidentally wipe the wrong disk.
