Run xp from the cd

Hello,my laptops hard drive is missing and i was wondering if there is a way to run xp from a cd and still get on the internet?

Live Linux disto works, http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html, although if you don't have a hard-drive at all you need to make sure you have enough RAM (probably a gig at least).
