I recently got a new PC and a monitor. My question is how can I connect the motherboard to the monitor so that the monitor can run 144hz?
Monitor: AOC C24G1 /1920x1080 , 144hz/
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
The ports which the monitor has are 2x HDMI 1.4 and 1x DisplayPort 1.2, however, the motherboard only has 1 HDMI and 1 DVI-D.
When I connected them via the monitor's included HDMI cable (I suspect its 1.4), it does not let me go past 60hz within the monitor settings.
Will an HDMI to DisplayPort cable work? Or maybe some DVI-D to DisplayPort adapter?
I would really appreciate your opinion on this as well as any possible negatives that may come with it!
