Rust or Dayz

Hi all,
I love both of these games and really want them but can only afford one at the moment. I will eventually get the other but I'm wondering which would be better in terms of lasting appeal and just all round fun.

I agree and I like the serious part of Dayz anyway. It just seems like anything can happen and you create your own story

I think you have that reversed somewhat...
DayZ is people just trying to murder each other.
Rust encourages you to work together to counteract the people just out to murder each other.

Definitely go with arma 2 and download the dayz mod for that. It'll be awhile until the dayz standalone catches up and is bug-free.

It depends on what you like though

It depends on how you rate a game, or perhaps you can ask multiple Steam friends for suggestion.

Rust: smash tree -> smash rock -> smash animal -> make M4 Carbine

Dayz: run to airfield -> pickup M4 Carbine -> kill newbies -> get killed by cheater -> rage about wasting 6 hours
