Tbh going red team is the best solution. The R3 2200G gives more than enough performance while staying within budget, and better ugradeability, as the Zen 2 (aka Ryzen X 3xxx) are expected to run on the same chipset and support up to 16 cores (RZ 3700X), not to mention the fact that you can still apply a decent overclock with no need to buy a new cpu/board and a better cooler (as the boards are cheaper, every R X 2xxx proccesor is overclockable and the provided heatsink is more than enough for some pretty good overclocks)
In case you are interested some benchmarks I've done with my R3 2200G (these are games that I play so sorry if it isn't good enough for you):
CS:GO (High Settings,1080P): 50-70 FPS
LoL (Very High Settings, 1080P): 100-110 FPS
Apex Legends (Low Settings,1080P): 50-70 FPS
Fortnite (Medium Settings, View Distance Far,1080P):50-70 FPS
And the benchmarks I did to ensure my clocks:
Cinebench (CPU): 530
Cinebench (OpenGL): 54 FPS
