So I'm going to get a PC with a I5-6402p and I have the option between an RX 480 4gb and a GTX 1060 3gb. I'm also looking for which one will hold up better in the future, and will VRAM be a problem? Which one? Thanks

If you combine all games, I believe they're both about equal. The RX 480 excels in both DX12 titles and AMD optimized titles (like Hitman).

OP, if you plan on playing future DX12 games, the 480 is your best bet. If not, get the 1060.

I'd take the RX 480. Both of them are about equal now but AMD has a history of supporting it's cards longer. The 7970 was made years ago and for everyone that purchased one, they still have a good gaming card today equal to an R9 380. The GTX 680 didn't age nearly as well. Take a look at the GTX 970 as well, recent game benches have it being beat by a 280, which is one generation older and released at a lower price.

It depends on the type of gamer. If a gamer is not playing any of the latest titles from a year ago to today, the 1060 3GB will be plenty fast for him.

True up to a point, but the 3GB of VRAM is still concerning in my opinion. Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor and GTA V can all break the 3GB VRAM barrier even at 1920x1080, and those games are a few years old now.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend any GPU that has less than 4GB of VRAM.
