Rig:

Msi rx 480 gamingx 8gbs

x2 G.Skill trident Z 3600mhz(xmp on)

Ryzen 5800x

msi b550m gaming edge wifi

650w gold plus psu

So this is what is happening tried first on latest driver 21.6.1. Tried to play witch it (also later with rainbow6 and furmark test), black screen and gpu full fan speed after loading menu. Okay, first bad thing. Tried going to optional 21.8.1, didn't help crashed again. After checking forums they told me 2 things might be happening or gpu has a corrupt driver or that psu might be insufficient. Went deep into another forum which told me that the current driver on an Rx 480 just don't work and produce many errors. So I went back to 17.7.1 and Bam started rainbow 6 with no problem and did 2 furmark test with no problem whatsoever. But when I tried to play witch it again, it crashed. So I tried to upgrade driver to 19.1.1 and again all the problems come back, witch it crash, furmark crash, rainbow crash. And at this point I think my gpu is just dead. 6 years of good use and now i dont have money to change to a new one because the current market. Glad to receive some comments on what driver might be good to go back to. At this point this is not a PSU problem because on 17.7.1 it worked perfectly.

On 19.1.1 if i undervolted to -22 furmark didnt crash but also didnt start. Tried playing rainbow6 with that settings and instead of going black screen to full fan speed. It just restarted.

Just in case i recently changed motherboard from a b550m pro vdh wifi to a b550m gaming edge wifi. Re used the same win 10 on the sdd, havent formatted since. So if anyone can link this current problem to being a win 10 probably malfunctioning please tell.

After some time i tried to do some extra furmarks(on 17.7.1) and on the third one it crashed. On furmark 1080p Preset i was hittin 75C° and between 450-500 mhz. And this Gpu has a core clock of 1303 so i it might be a thermal issue. Or maybe indeed the PSU might be doing something wrong i think. Honestly im out of ideas. I just hope is something about the other 2, because its easy to change thermal paste, and i still have warranty on my new PSU.

Tomorrow i will try to use my previous psu and check if it is a power delivery issue. But If someone has another idea please share.

Edit: Tried to do some other testing doing renders with blender using eevee, nothing to extreme but this are the results
Edit 2: Updated drivers again to 21.4.1 and tried to do the same blender render and it crashed. Black screen, gpu fan full speed. Had to manually shut down the PC

Edit 3: After more testing i think i may have found the problem. Its either the PSU or Thermals View: https://imgur.com/a/DWMsix3

i undervolted the GPU on radeon wattman to -50 and configured the fan curve. And got a positive test. Before that change it crashed on the same test View: https://imgur.com/a/fGjhZFq
these are the thermals and Volts during the render

Edit 4 : I tried playing Witch it , Rainbow 6 and Remnant from the ashes and all the games worked perfectly this time with all the previous changes applied. So i guess i solved my problem. Still i will use the warranty on the PSU just in case and later will re apply and clean the GPU. Hope in the future this post will help someone with the same chain of events i had.

Did your games play ok with the new setup before you tried updating the drivers?
As far as I remember rainbow6 and remnant from the ashes didn't crash my PC. But I never played those games after changing motherboard+psu so I can't tell if it can be a corrupted win 10
But if the game doesn't crash then It stays at the same fps It used to

Uh.... what!? Not only that's wrong, it's plain dumb. I can tell because I'm running some 590 cards (they're technically factory OC'd 480s) with the latest drivers and they work perfectly.

650w gold plus psu
Make and model? There are hundreds of 650W power supplies.
