I want to upgrade my graphics card but i cant decide betwen Asus Radeon RX 550 4GB GDDR5 and Asus nVidia GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5. I know that GTX is probably faster but im not sure will i need more vram in the future. My current gpu is 1GB and i had issues with some games regarding vram.
My current setup:
AMD A10 - 7860K Quad Core 4.0 GHz
Asus Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5
Asus A88X - Plus
Seagate 1TB 7200rpm HDD
Kingston 8GB DDR3 2133MHz RAM
LC Power 500W
1080p Monitor

For 1080p gaming the 2gb VRAM is JUST enough that you probably won't run into any issues. The 1050 is also a way better performing card in a majority of games compared to the RX550. For me this isn't really a competition, the 1050 is just a better card.

VRAM should be more of a side note. The VRAM will be enough since with a 1050 you will not play any games past medium settings anyway. VRAM only becomes an issue when you play at high+ settings at higher resolution. The 1050 will not do well in either department.

The VRAM should be a non-issue, and even if it becomes an issue, it will be minor and will be fixed by lowering some settings.

Vram doesn't make much difference if the GPU is too slow to make use of it. 4Gb of vram on a low end card is more of a marketing stunt than a performance boon.

It was the same situation when i was buying my current card, 1gb seemed fine then, but now some games even on the lowest settings make problems (expecially newer Forza games). Im just afraid that in the future i will not be able to run some games properly.

With my current card, im usually playin on low, and for some games its not enough

Can you tell me whats the main difference between these 2:

Different coolers(the dual fan Strix card will run cooler) and the Strix has 1 more dvi-d port. Clock speeds are the same so performance will be the same.
