Rx 580 8gb vs Gtx 1060 6gb for Ark

So I am wanting to do this PC build that I saw on a YouTube video. It consists of these parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kKGj9W It does not include 16 GB of ram but I wanted more and I did not add a HDD because I already own one. I really only play Ark and Counter Strike, I know counter strike will run perfectly no matter which card I get but my main concern is what card would perform better in Ark since both cards have similar fps but 1 would have an advantage in some games over the other.

I think the RX 580 would perform better for Ark.

Is it the extra 2 GB that would make it perform better than 1060?

The 1060 is better on ark by 10-15%.

On another note that's a nice build , you should change out the skanky quality PSU though !

^^That - never go cheap on the heartbeat of your new PC build...the power supply. I am constantly amazed at how so many just refuse to spend say another $20USD on higher quality power supply after spending hundreds on other hardware components. If on a budget, this is what I'd recommend:

The b1 500/is OK but still average quality at best.

Assuming you are USA then that seasonic is easily the best PSU available for under $50.

Well I have a bad taste in my mouth with a failed Seasonic S12II 620W. But I guess I just got a bad one. Crapped out months after the old 3-year warranty was up. Ticked me off. If you look at the NewEgg reviews, several others lost the gamble too. And note that most of them reported a failure after two years. Exactly like me. They now are 5 years in warranty so apparently the quality is better.
