I was thinking of putting together a cheap gaming pc by buying a dell optiplex 790 replacing the psu to a 500w evga one and adding an rx 570. But a heard that amd rx cards are not supported by older oem desktops. Will updating the bios to the latest version fix this issue? if it will not work, what GPU would be a good alternative?
thank you.

There won't be problems regarding the GPU working on the PC.

Only thing you need to worry about is what type if 790 it is. There is 2 different models and the bigger is better.

4 DIMM slots Non-ECC dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM up to 16GB
2 DIMM on USFF up to 8GB

8 GB isnt bad but for gaming I would always start at an solid 16GB if you are looking into playing the latest of games.

What would be the last BIOS version of that DELL system/PC ? Any idea ? Is that a SFF or a MINI tower form factor Desktop model ?
