I just bought a brand new pc after living with a terrible laptop, i was so excited to build it but when it booted up i had a multitude of problems and after cleared up all the issues the drivers didnt want to install properly, on the third attempt i opened up the bios and saw my cpu temp was red and had hit 90 degrees and was going up before it immediatly shut down, Fans are running at max speed (ive tried on multiple settings) (PC:https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xyKrf8)
I had heard about overvolting on this asus mobo and then i noticed when it was booting it said: ERROR OVERCLOCKING or something like that when i havent overclocked it, Its running at around 1-1.2 volts is that bad? Ive already installed windows and it was working fine. I am really really really stressed as i have spent £600 on this build and im worried ive already permadamaged it and have no clue what to do.
Please help me, thank you :)

yeah its actually really nice thanks... Unfortunatly i dont know if im unlucky or im being stupid but ive ran into an issue that my friend didnt cause... It reboots randomly every now and then :/ its very rare and didnt happen on monday or saturday but was happening yesterday leading me to believe i installed something that my pc doesnt like... I havent used the pc yet today but hopefully the issue has resolved its self, and thanks again for helping me pick the parts

Update: This is getting out of hand, after replying to that post i booted up fallout 4, less then 30 seconds in it did it again, i have a thread on it (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3410537/randomly-reboots.html#19672622) if anyone wants to help or has a clue whats wrong but the tip is it wasnt like this the other day and i have no windows restore points maybe a power connector wiggled out of place in there?

For random shutdowns and restarts, the first thing I suspect is the PSU. Try re-checking every connection and making sure that all other components are also correctly seated first - I've seen at least one person discover that he had one incorrectly seated DIMM causing random shutdowns. If re-seating everything doesn't help, I'd try a different and preferably better quality PSU as the next step.

Hmmmmm i gave everything in the case a wiggle around and it seems to be fine now without any issues :) Hasnt crashed at all its all good

Hey dude . We have the same chip which is the ryzen 5 1400 , i overclocked it to 3.8ghz with a voltage of 1.35000 and its very very very stable i used prime 95 to stress the cpu or the torture test for about 8 hrs. And i only reached 79c nothing more nothing less, im using also a liquid cooler from id cooling which is the frostflow 240L . Back to your problems .

In bios u might wanna check the amd cool n quiet and u must enable it to help your pc cool down when it doesnt doing so much, your also asking the stock voltages of this chip right ?? Go and set it to 1.25000 at a frequency of 3200(3.2 ghz) you'll be good . And you might wanna check your heatsink if it is properly touching the whole cpu and also the thermal paste just a pee size or dot will be good enough, just keep in mind when you want to overclock your cpu dont you ever use the stock cooler buy an aftermarket cooler dude .
Here are some of the list that i've tried and tested guaranteed stable .
3.4ghz 1.25000 pass
3.6ghz 1.27500 pass
3.8ghz 1.27500 and 1.35000 pass
Trust me mate i just achieved 79c on 3.8 ghz OC depending on your cooler .
And i almost forgot when you want to overclock your cpu always remember that you wanna disable the amd cool n quiet in the bios to avoid and cpu throttling ok ?
Ryzen 5 1400 is a powerful cpu, make use of it :)

Thanks for the advice, my cpu has been running great for ages at its stock speeds i might oc it to 3.5ghz and see what the difference is, ty 😀
