Hello, I am getting a new CPU and motherboard but there are inconveniences of course...

Problems are:
+ A320m/b450m motherboards I found only have 2 fan headers(CPU+only ONE sys fan) so I have to get a A520m/b550m because they have 3 fan headers...
No I can not find any fan splitters in my country.. (I can maybe see if a relative can buy them for me from outside)

+I would get a Ryzen 3600 but its price is 85$(230 in my country currency which is equal to 230$ in our economy) higher... While the difference in gaming tests I have seen is only 15-23 FPS or so currently ( I am planning to buy a 3050/3060 when they are released, would 1600 AF be enough for it ?)

+I have searched and found out that Ryzen 1600AF does indeed work on A520 motherboards, but I still want to know others experience if they tried it ( I read in two instances that ethernet won't work that way)

Should I :
+just pick 1600 AF+B450m and wait to see if I can get the fan splitters (two 230 mm case fans into one fan header)
+1600 AF+A520m and try my luck ? (also I need to know what bios version I need)
+3600+A520m (for 85$ more...)

1600af is 2nd generation. A520 and B550 only officially support 3rd generation and newer CPUs, meaning the 1600af may not work. Some people have reported older CPUs as able to work on these motherboards, however this is not officially supported so I would not reccomend this. I would suggest a B450 motherboard, maybe one of MSIs B450 MAX line of motherboards since these support generations 1-3 out of the box.

Hello there!
What about i5 10400f they offer really good value with a B460

Hard to say if the 1600af would be enough for a GPU that hasn't been released yet. Whether your CPU is good enough depends on the settings you run and what resolution you play games at.

It depends on the motherboard, just make sure that you check their supported cpu list and it should tell you if the chip is supported or not, an example from Gigabyte is below. Also, couldnt you get a molex to 3 pin adapter and call it a day? They make those with multiple 3 pin connectors as well. As for your other question, the 3600 is faster and less likely to bottleneck those future GPU's, but the 1600AF still isnt a slouch either, its basically a renamed Ryzen 5 2600. You could just start out with the 1600AF and in the future upgrade to a 5800X, or something along those lines so long as your motherboard supports it.

I did just find an Asrock b450m hdv. Are the Asrock motherboards good in the b450 generation ?

1600 is first generation zen.. Would definitely go for 3600 and 3600 will work on most b450 and all b550.. I have a b450 aorus elite and i have 4 fan headers I think the b550 version has 6

You would be suprised. The 10400f is allowed about 130w of power for a limited duration of 30 seconds., and then it drops back to around 65w once this duration is up.

Hmmm, if that is the case then I have to search for a b460m motherboard with 3 fan headers now lol

I just found a Gigabyte b460m ds3h with three. Is it good ? Or at least are the Gigabyte b460m good in general ?

10400f+b460m ds3h equals roughly the price of the 3600+Asrock b450 hdv

But why would I consider it now over the 3600 :/ ? (3600 is still good in workloads, I won't do any but I will do some occasional decompression and installation)

I would not reccomend the AsRock B450 HDV. Although sufficient for a 3600, It will hinder you if you try to overclock and you will sacrifice some upgradability too. I had the A520 version of that board which has the same VRM and it allowed a 3600 to run perfectly, but Its not ideal.

Honestly I would recommend going with socket AM4 over LGA 1200, the platform is more mature, you have more CPU upgrade options, and PCIE Gen 4 if you go with a b550 or x570 motherboard. Even if you dont go with the newer chipsets you still get a mature platform with upgrade options, and the Ryzen 5 3600 is a more efficient chip.

Yeah I think I will just get a 1600AF+Asrock b450m hdv and save the money for the GPU or even a used 3600 in the future.
I also remembered that the b460's ram clock speed are limited for the i5..

Didn't notice that it was zen+. Gammaxx 400 cooler is the same thing as a hyper evo and its only 19.99 btw. You're better off spending an extra 15-30 bucks to get a better motherboard instead of cheaping out on a real crappy one. If you get a good b450 you could always upgrade to a 3600x or 5600x later on. A lot of the b450 boards now come with new bios that would let them work out of the box with the newer CPUs
