I want now to buy a performance all round pc and also want to do light gaming, especially just cause 3. Which CPU should I opt for Ryzen 5 1500X or Ryzen 3 1300X. CPU userbenchmark shows that 1300X is more powerful. Is Intel planning to release cheap mobos for i5 8400 which have locked multiplier? If yes please tell me expected date and cost. If no then please suggest me appropriate CPU from the option above. I have no planning to buy a cooler so how much can I overclock using stock cooler?

1300x is more powerful? they have the same freq. with 1500x have more threads.

i use the plain ryzen 1600 on a gaming machine and with the good ram for it you could overclock it .

Ryzen 5 1500x is far far better than Ryzen 3 1300x. I also saw CPU userbenchmark, but is a mistake. If you use stock cooler and a a budget mobo dont expect big overclock. If you wish better overclocking i.g. 4 GHz, you need a high end mobo, a better cooler and a very good RAM like FlareX 3200.
Sincerely ryzen with "x" have the automatic oc with turbo and XFR and do not wait much longer than they do automatically.

Intel release chipset B360 H370 and H310 cheaper than Z370 maybe in April, i'm not sure. (they said in the first quarter and today is 03/14...). Cheapest Mobo with B360 H370 count about 50 $ less than cheapest mobo with Z370. With H310 even cheaper.

Why not r5 1600 whit 95w stock cooler?
On stock voltage you can do max oc p95 stable, 3.7-3.8ghz maybe more. 1.35V VCOR is too much for p95 stable, but good enought for gaming.
