Hello guys,

I'm doing my first Ryzen build, and i want you to help giving me your opinion about the following build and if the components are good and will work perfectly without a bottleneck.

Right now I have a 1080p 60mhz (up to 75) monitor and the idea is play the latests games in ultra
above 60 FPS (minimum 65FPS). Sometimes i use some video/photos edition programs (but no frequently)

Components

-CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (i'll use the stock cooler)
-Mother: Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming
-Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200mhz
-SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
-HDD: WD Blue 1TB Sata3
-GPU: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 8GB
-PSU: EVGA 650w GQ (plus Gold)
-Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro M (Acrylic Panel)

Thanks in advance!

Solution
seems solid to me.. I just completed my build with ryzen build with 1600 and using it for 2 days. In your build i only want to remind you that be careful with the selected ram modules. you need to check in your motherboard's supported ram list if your ram kit is supported by your Mobo.

GTX 1070 is fine for ultra settings in 1080p. But, since clock speed better in the Ryzen 1600x model maybe you should check fps comparisons for 1080p resolution. in 2k is not so much difference but in 1080p it can be different story. Price is not so different between two cpu but 1600x will need a cooler because package doesnt include one. So if you can spare -+30$ for extra cooler you can consider about getting 1600x.

I use 1600 for 2 days and its pretty fine but i am gaming at 2k monitor. It has lower TDP than 1600x and with some overclock it can reach same speeds as 1600x. But for stable overclock, 1600 will need a good cooler too. I made some test about that.

Solution

There's no point getting the 1600X, the 1600 can just be overclocked to the same speeds.

Yes i mentioned about it as 1600 user but it was just an idea to give because some people choose 1600x just for a little more overclock room.

Personally i think that 1600 is more than enough if the rig is for gaming.

First of all, thanks you guys for answering.

I've been reading that you can make a overclock, for example, up to 3.6 or 3.8 with the stock cooler and keep the temperature between 50ºC and 65ºC.
What do you think? Is a good temperature for a overclocked ryzen 5 (1600) with his own cooler?

Or maybe i should try with the CM Hyper 212 evo? i don't how much the hyper 212 will decrease, because if it can just decrease 5ºC, maybe i'll prefer save the money and stay with the stock cooler.

Evo is excellent and according to experiences i saw on internet with screenshots, its dropping the heat around 15-20 degree which is nice for it's price.

So if you want to oc buy 1600x + cm hyper evo.
If you will oc a little go with 1600.

Should be fine on the stock cooler. The Hyper 212 Evo is an upgrade, but not a very big one and not really worth the price. Plus it's annoying to install. If you want to buy a better cooler there are better options on the market now.
