Hi everybody,
Im experiencing some trouble trying to limit my CPU temps in BIOS.
Build:
-ASUS TUF B450 Gaming Plus
-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (All-core OC@4.2GHz - 1.1625V in ryzen master)
-Be Quiet! Dark Rock Slim
-Corsair vengeance LPX 4x8Go@3200Mhz(running @3333Mhz with slightly shorter timings)
-Be Quiet! 500DX case with 2x front intake + 1 back exhaust (140mm Pure wings 2)
Its not a cooling hardware/thermal paste/mounting issue, but a BIOS/OC problem i have here.
(Thermal Paste changed a few weeks ago, with cleaning of CPU/Heat sink)
I tried limiting the CPU temp to different values in PBO settings but seems to change nothing.
Also tried to update BIOS to latest version, resetting bios, enabling/disabling PBO..
I tested values with both HWinfo and Ryzen master, and stress testing with prime 95 or Ryzen master build-in stress test.
Temps in Prime95 are not so alarming but since i set CPU temp limit in BIOS to 80 i should get some thermal throttling but the CPU just keeps giving max perf.
Temps in Ryzen Master build-in stress test are kinda concerning
I saw another post with the same topic trying to google this issue but it seems like it was a MSI Game boost related issue which could not be my case since im on ASUS Mobo.
Why is my CPU not thermal throttling ? I tried everything thats in my actual knowledge, hope someone can HELP !
