after putting in my ryzen 5 3600 with the stock cooler ( wraithe stealth ) i noticed my temps were kinda high. when on my home screen the temps are around 50 degrees and when i was playing rainbow six siege it would be sat from 70 to 85 with a random spike hitting 93 which really caught my attention as this is stupid high. when i was playing Fortnite it sat around 70 degrees which i thought was normal. i have resat my cooler twice and it stayed the same. is there anything i can do because even though im considering buying the hyper 212 im sure i would need a new motherboard for it.
i will leave some pictures so someone can tell me if it will fit.

You can try underclocking your CPU to see if that will help. Also, how many case fans do you have, since they are pretty useful for good temps. I have 4 case fans and I have a stable 4 ghz overclock on the 2600 that never goes above 73 degrees.
Also, if you want to buy an aftermarket cooler, then I would find one that will support your motherboard.

I currently have 4 , 3 on the front and 1 at the back , but randomly i notice the back one isn’t spinning maybe after a restart but its rare and most the time it is , i will try and underclock it as i have the auto oc on so its always around 4GHZ

Why would you need a different board to change coolers? I really wouldn't recommend the 212, it's only slightly better than stock. There are better coolers in that price range.

With 3 intakes and 1 exhaust you should have good flow. Does your case offer good flow?

Auto oc is never really a good idea as it tends to run excess voltage. Put it on stock and see what happens. With good temps, itll boost higher than 4ghz anyways.

Because coolers are larger than others correct? Gigabyte B450M GAMING (Socket AM4/B450/DDR4/S-ATA 600/Micro ATX) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K787MXX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_d2MeEb1HQX333
Thats my mobo and its small only just fitting my stock cooler on , after reading some reviews people saying the airflow is bad you can take a look Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 RGB Computer Case 'ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX, Includes 3 x 120mm RGB Fans, Tempered Glass Side Panel' MCW-L5S3-KGNN-02 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073R5GC4R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_b5MeEb5H4G99F

After reading up it looks like the airflow is terrible and yes my pc heats up but i did not think it was so bad. could this really affect my temperatures?

Coolers are larger than others, yes. But mounting is based on socket type, not board specific.

That case may not be the greatest but should still work fine. Is that front panel solid? Looks like it is. You may try to take it off to see how it affects temps.

Turn off any of the auto overclocking you mentioned and see what happens.

Okay will try this tomorrow and get back , appreciate the help

I am also having the same issue. When I'm at idle my CPU temperature varies from 62-73 C. But when I'm playing a game like Darksiders 3 it stays around 60 C? Picture of CPUID HWMonitor. I just replace my stock with the Cool Master 212.

63-73C idle with a custom cooler?? That's pretty high, my 1st Gen 8 core 1800X idle 26-30C with the Freezer 33 eSports, during gaming it doesn't go past 55C and doesn't go past 59C in Prime95 max heat/stress test. Did your correctly mount the CPU cooler and properly applied a good thermal paste? What % CPU fan speed are you running? Did you OC? Your 1.45V Vcore seems high.
Manually enter your Vcore in bios as some motherboards push more than needed voltage into the CPU.
The best air cooler is the Noctua but I couldn't afford as its 150$CA plus shipping plus 15% taxes here in Canada so I got the Freezer for 50$CA from newegg.ca.

I hopefully correctly mounted it. I tightened all the screws until they would go anymore. I applied a pea sized drop of thermal paste to it. The fans are currently going from 1200-1400RPM. Where would I find the V.core for a Ryzen 5 3600. and I don't think I've overclocked it, I reset the Bios already to make sure it wasn't.

It's also so weird how it drops to like 50C when running a game, but at desktop it fluctuates a lot from 65-74C?

You can control the CPU fan using SpeedFan which also monitors temps.
Vcore can be changed in bios.

From where are you getting your idle reading temps?
Check in task manager if some apps are using your CPU.

I'm not sure if this would help, but maybe switch out your back fan with a working front fan. You could also move one of your front fans so its acts as an exhaust fan. If none of these cooling options work, I would get an aftermarket cooler.

I disagree. Even a Hyper 212 should be significantly better than the stock cooler. It's notably better than the Wraith Spire that comes with some of AMD's CPUs, but the 3600 doesn't even come with that. It comes with the Wraith Stealth, which is about half the height of the Spire, and not much better than Intel's stock coolers.

Because coolers are larger than others correct?
As long as the cooler supports the current AM4 socket, and its height can fit inside your case, it should work. According to that case's product page, it should fit tower coolers up to 160mm in height, and a Hyper 212 is about 159mm, so that cooler would likely fit. Some especially-tall RAM kits might potentially bump into certain coolers too though.

While the 212 is better. For the same 30 bucks or so op could grab the artic freezer esports 34. Which is a 200tdp cooler vs the 150tdp rating of the 212.

So, the 212 isnt a bad choice, but for the same price I'd rather have the better cooler.

I often forget the non x variants dont come with the better wraith.

Just my two cents.
