Build Advice Ryzen 5 5600G vs R5 5500/3600 with Used GPU – Best Budget Build ?

I’m building a PC on a budget and need advice on the best CPU choice. My options:

1. Ryzen 5 5600G – Comes with integrated graphics, so I can use it immediately and upgrade with a GPU later.

2. Ryzen 5 5500 or Ryzen 5 3600 (or any budget cpu)– will add Card later,

My main concerns:
Gaming & Coding
Future proof

Second-hand GPU recommendations (budget ₹8,000 - ₹12,000)

Yes I know it's sounds bit silly, the thing is Im really tight on budget so I can't afford a card right now,
With 5600g I can use the system right away and add Card later, but with the cpu I have to wait months to buy a card to use it, so I'm asking is it worth waiting or should I go with 5600g,

Which option makes the most sense for long-term value? Any specific GPU recommendations in my budget? Planning to pair it with B450m motherboard Thanks in advance!

Any specific GPU recommendations in my budget?
I see you're located in India, so what sort of GPU's do you have access to? Might want to provide links to sites you have access to and gives us an insight as to the brands/parts you can buy into. This site and it's user based are based in the USA.

As s side note, I wouldn't invest in a second hand GPU, if you can save, wait and buy something that has proper warranty on it from the seller.

1| I wouldn't invest in an APU, instead look at a Ryzen 5 5600/5600x or a 5700X3D.
2| Will need you to have a discrete GPU since the processors listed don't have an iGPU.

You're forgetting that a build isn't just comprised of the processor and discrete GPU, but 8 other parts.

Please list the specs to your current build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Planning to pair it with B450m motherboard
B450 is the chipset while the M designates the form factor which is an matx motherboard. If your board lacks a Flash BIOS button/BIOS Flashback button/Q-Flash Plus, then your options are pointless since you will need to update the BIOS in order to drop in a Ryzen 5000 series processor/APU.

Hey, thanks for the reply, for gpu I don't have any site link to share, I have some connections with the local shop owners (who sell 2nd hand items) probably 1660 super or any 20 series card,

Man, like I said I'm really tight on budget, that's why I choose between r5 3600 and 5500, I'm not that into heavy gaming, just casual gaming, apex, valo

I already have rest of the components, I just need to replace the motherboard and cpu, previous one which is (A320 and r3 3200g) not working

I took the motherboard to the Gigabyte service center, and they told me that the board has corrosion, which they are unable to repair. They also mentioned that this might have affected the CPU as well, so I need to replace the CPU too.

The 5500 and 3600 are for all intents and purposes the same CPU. Go with the one that is less expensive.

Without a doubt even a lower end discrete graphics card is going to pound the integrated graphics on those G series. It is impressive and look to see well more capability moving ahead. Here in the States and in my opinion of where the lowest level of what many here consider minimum spec game play, mainstream, it seems the entry level even on used graphics cards is pretty close to $200. IDK if still an effect of the Christmas season alongside upcoming tax time but used stuff isn't priced very competitively as compared to its new counterparts.

Future proof and budget don't often work out together. IMO, at this moment in time, if you wish future proof on AMD you need to push budget towards AM5. If you mean to be budget with great bang for buck, some level of possible improvement while you wait out the price drops then AM4 is still a good place to be. A recent article discussed that sales for AM4/5 are still sitting about 50/50 on new parts.

@punkncat @ohio_buckeye , thanks for the reply guys,
I'm almost at the end and need a small clarification. For the CPU, I chose the least expensive option, the Ryzen 5 5500, along with a B550 motherboard. Can I cut costs by going with a B450 motherboard instead? Is it worth it?

For the graphics card, should I go with a GTX 1660 or any 20-series card? Is it okay to buy a GTX card now? Are there any budget AMD alternatives you’d recommend?

Currently, I have an Antec 450W power supply. Is that enough, or should I upgrade?

I just need specs for casual gaming, like Apex Legends and other competitive games, focusing on 1080p gaming. If there’s any way to cut costs on some components, that would be really helpful.
🥲

Be aware that the B450 could need a BIOS update to boot. If you don't have a 2xxx or 3xxx AM4 CPU on hand I would get the B550.

edit- also, I agree that if you are going AMD CPU, go with an AMD GPU in the budget to mid range. They work well together and particularly if you have a decent FreeSync capable monitor on a DP cable.
