Specs:

  • GPU: RX 7600 XT (upgraded from GTX 1050ti)
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Motherboard: B450M
  • Power Supply: 650W
Background:

I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1050ti to an RX 7600 XT and applied new thermal paste with a good CPU cooler. My temperatures are now around 35-40°C at idle and 70-75°C while gaming, so no more thermal throttling.

The Issue:

Before the upgrade, I used to get 90-120 FPS in CS2 with the 1050ti. Now, with the RX 7600 XT, I'm only getting 100-130 FPS, which is a minimal improvement and much lower than I expected. This same issue applies to other games as well.

Some AAA games which I also tried but I think they're fine (You guys can tell me about the expected FPS, but I thought this was good) are:

  • Halo Infinite: 110-144 FPS on ultra settings
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: 65-105 FPS on ultra
  • Battlefield 1: 144-160 FPS on ultra
I’m out of ideas and really worried about why I’m not seeing the performance improvement I should be getting with this new GPU.

Fixes I've Tried:

  1. Moved games to SSD
  2. Clean reinstalled drivers using DDU
  3. Reinstalled Windows and formatted everything
  4. XMP activated in BIOS
  5. Applied new thermal paste and installed a new CPU cooler (temps are good now)
  6. Activated ReBar
  7. Power options on high performance
PS: I used ChatGPT for the above post, don't blame me i'm done with this error. Me n my friends are trying from like 2 to 3 days, a perfectly new GPU and CPU still fail to deliver. i need help guys....
