Hello,
I've just upgraded my old pc with some new parts:

-ryzen 5 7500f
-asus rog strix b650e-e gaming wifi
-lexar ares ddr5 32gb 6400 mhz cl32

After that I want to do a small performance boost using the pbo settings, my processor runs smoothly with -30 all cores negative but I still get a base boost clock (5050 MHz).
This is the picture from my View: https://imgur.com/a/VFZX6PE
bios settings, why is there something like "CPU Fused Boost Clock Limit"? What does this mean and how to change it?
I think this might be the problem, as the value in the bios is identical to the maximum cpu clock.

And for more information, my bios is updated to the latest version (1813) and i'm using my old PSU - seasonic focus gold 650w with only one eps power cable connected.

Thanks for any solutions !

Best regards:)

Hey there,

The first thing I'd say is you are trying to do too much to start off with. What I mean is that your are changing too many things, and we don't know how your system performs.

Please reset your bios to default. Then run benchmarks for the CPU and GPU at stock. You need this as a baseline, otherwise you will never know where you are with doing things correctly. You can use Cinebench R23 to test the CPU, and Superposition or 3d Mark Firestrike for the GPU. Note the scores and get an average of 3 runs of each. This then becomes your baseline.

Now, only set PBO to on, and nothing else, leaving everything else on auto. XMP/DOCP can be on all the time. Re-test with the same programs and see how they compare to your baseline. If there's an increase in performance then that's a great start.

After that we can look at fine tuning your OC. Let us know how that goes?

So, thats the benchmarks results:

CinebenchR23 - 14k
3d Mark Firestrike - 29.5k

Like you said, i've done 3 runs of each and thats the average of them.

GPU - RTX 4060Ti 8GB
OS - Windows 11 Pro
AiO - Arctic liquid freezer II 360

Unfortunetly performance is the same, i mean "stock" bios only with DOCPII profile vs PBO ON and DOCPII profile. CPU Clock is still locked on 5050MHz.
At this moment the only way wich i know to boost the cpu is ryzen master and "Auto OC" profile, cpu clock boost to 5150Mhz, but this is also swiching PPT, TDC and EDC to 1000. I'm not sure if this is save for my PC.
And the last one, anyone know what CPU Fused Boost Clock Limit means? and how to disable it?

Well fylyp

I bought similar CPU and was able to similarly offset it to -30 and now have a boost of up to 5050 mhz which I don't see as a problem or I missed something. Without undervolting boost was lower, below 5000 mhz which is kind a weird (less power - higher boost clock). Also I put platform limit to 75c but generally CPU newer get to more than 72c - checked many times using CinebenchR23 (that's with Arctic freezer A35). Right now I also checked my Bios PBO options on MSI b650 Gaming plus and there was no "CPU Fused Boost Clock Limit" option at all. Personally, very satisfied with this CPU. It replaced my i7 4790k which was best CPU I ever had. Hope the new one will serve me well for a long, long time.

Best.
