I've got a 2.2 year old Ryzen 5700G in a system that's been working fine for the 2+ years. Suddenly the system (Win 11) started freezing or restarting randomly (not under loads). I tried an alternate install of Win 10, same problem. I tried installing Ubuntu, this was more stable but did eventually do one or the other (occasionally while booting). I tried reinstalling Win11 and that hung every time.
At first I thought mem, so I did memtest (nothing) and full-swapped the mem out. No luck; I tried a new motherboard, also no luck. At this point it feels like it must be the CPU (minimal PSU load, new heavy duty PSU) but do CPUs fail in such. way that load isn't the issue, but it's random crashes? or is it worth trying a new CPU first?
Any advice appreciated, thanks.
