I'm in a similar situation I was a couple of years ago. It's a good one though. Anyway, you can see what I have in my sig. I know, an RTX 3080 will cause my i5 9600K to bottleneck the system, but even so, I'm only going to drop 12 FPS on average, 15 max. Even though I'm dropping frames, I'm still gaining much MUCH more with an RTX 3080 over my 2080. An R9 Ryzen 5900X with a new mobo. It's all going to cost around the same. I'm not discounting the Radeon 6800XT, or the 6900XT if it's in the price range of the RTX 3080 (doubtful).

Money is also a factor. I might not be able to afford the 3080. I currently only have $600 and the only way I can upgrade is to sell some older components or the unlikely event (though hoping) that a 2nd stimulus check goes through.

If that happens then it's either an RTX 3070 or Radeon 6800XT. Alternatively, a Ryzen R7 5800X.

I only game, web browsing, no streaming. What say you?
Thanks in advance!

Solution
The 9600K is a resilient little cpu, and In most games will not actually bottleneck you, atleast not in a severe way.

Get either a 3080, or don't upgrade.

Getting a 3070 will only get you, 15-25% more performance, and that's not really worth it.
