Question Ryzen 7 5800H - CPU clock speed spikes/fluctuations when idle

Hi,

My brand new Legion 7's Ryzen 7 5800H CPU clock speed is constantly going up and down when idle, as can be seen in the MSI afterburner hardware monitor below.

The values are somewhat consistent, at 2525 and 3675 MHz, so the graph almost looks like a thick line. I do not have iCue installed, and nothing was running besides Chrome, Discord, WhatsApp and Steam. Nothing was being downloaded either.

The laptop was plugged in, but when it is on battery, the same thing happens, with values 1400 (low) and 2600 (high).

Is this normal, or is there anything I should be worried about?

Any time windows, or any other software for that matter, needs to do something, you will see this behavior. It is normal. No system truly sits idle.
