Question Ryzen 7 9800x 3d and ASUS ROG Strix B650-A Gaming WiFi AMD Ryzen AM5 ATX motherboard,

Hello, so I have bought a Ryzen 7 9800x 3d CPU and a Asus Rog strix b650-a gaming WiFi and Ryzen am5 atx motherboard from Amazon. However when I look on the internet everything's saying that most motherboards will need a bios update for the CPU to work, and I don't want to turn the pc on if I have done something incorrect. So do I need to do a bios update, or because it's a new motherboard will it have the correct bios version to run the CPU and everything on the internet is just old information?

Yes, you are correct. Some mobo's are released for the last gen, may not have an up to date bios for the newer gen.

You could send an email to ASUS, and ask them about the board, and does it have the 2613 bios? Then you will know.

I would imaging however, that there is a bios update feature on your mobo that allows you to update the bios without the CPU, so you can get it to work. So check that out

Edit: Just to confirm your mobo does have the bios flashback tool, so you are good to go 👍
