hi,

I have a 128GB micro sd for adoptable storage on my S7 edge but after running "sm partition [disk] private", my phone reboots and then get an error on my phone that "a system process is not responding". the sd is not corrupted as it works fine with my pc.

Samsung screwed with the way adoptable storage works so it doesn't work as advertised by google/android. You might have an issue with the size of the SD card or the card itself. I would try something smaller as a test, something like 32GB. Let us know how that goes.

It works fine with a 64GB micro sd but I still need more storage.

How are you enabling the adoptable storage? By default this is not an option. Coudl you provide us a link to your process (I'm assuming you are following some tutorial online)
Do you have another 128GB card (preferably from another brand) to try? That will help us rule out the card itself or the capacity being an issue. I don't personally own an S7 nor do I have that operating system on my phone. I can only provide you with some basic troubleshooting.
