greetings, I have been reading a lot in this website, but I think Im just screwed.

I have the sabertooth x58 mobo and the i7 960 processor, actually im running with 2gb of ram because the other modules are dead. so Im looking for a replacement.

I was looking for a solution, something around 8-12 gb of ram, dont care if it is triple channel or dual channel, but it seems is impossible.

Just checking the QVL in the Asus website, I found they have 2 QVL for this MOBO, 1 for the bloomfield processors and another QVL for the gulftown.

As you may know, my processor falls into the bloomfield category, but I cant find anything that match my criteria.
I just found 6 gb solutions, with the config. of 3x2gb.

now im depressed, I cant believe this mobo, is so expensive and useless?

I dont really know if is recommended to use ram modules not listed in the QVL.

I want to use ram sticks of 4 gb each one, thats my priority.

I wonder how to solve this situation, is hard to me. :sarcastic:
sorry for my bad english.

We posted at the same time, sure the CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 kit is perfectly fine. The 1.65/1.50v kits don't need a fan to cool them, only if you OC i.e. exceed the Rated Frequency/CAS Timings and in particular over-volt. Though I do prefer the Dominator series -- better IC's.
You're not screwed and pretty much any DDR3-1600 3x_GB is your best bet. The QVL is both dated and very limited and certainly not your only or best options.

For the money and quality I like the following two kits:
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (9-9-9-24 @ 1.50v) Model 998995 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226192

Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (9-9-9-24 @ 1.50v) Model CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233146

Thanks buddie, I also think the same, the fans are kinda useless but I think is a good feature.
