hi all
I have a custom build pc i have had it for nearly a year now,ill list its specs at the end of this thread.Its never worked properly since i bought it and after several RMA's still dont work like it should.Ok my pc runs fine when doin general stuff but as soon as i go in to game it hard boots no BSOD(blue screen of death)this could take anything from 5 mins to 30 mins to do.I initially thought it was over heating so i checked temps with asus probe which stated cpu running around 72c under load north bridge and south bridge was no were near over heating.I checked with another program called fanexpert which is another asus program to make sure it was accurate reading same results.So then i thought it could be the graphics card so i stress tested this with furmark under full load it reached around 76c which i do believe is hot but not for a graphics card.So to no success heres the stuff ive tried...
.Run prime95 blend test which stress's a mixture of everything more ram stressed than others for 4 hours no errors
.Run prime95 in place large FFT which stress's for heat/power consumption/ram for 11hour 30ish mins
.swapped power supply from 1050 to 630whtz
.swapped power supply for 700whtz
.run mulitple ram test main one is memtest86+
.tried different ram 4gig 1600mhz think timings was 9-9-9-24
.my mainboard was RMA'ed because onboard sound was not working they say i cracked the track and voided my warrenty after arguin and 2 and a half months with out a pc they finally fix it free of charge
.re-aplied thermal paste and reseated heatsink
.set timings on ram to the correct ones manually and tried R.M.X mode i think its called
.played with cpu voltage
.overclocked cpu
.set factory defaults in bios
.upgraded bios to the latest version
.updated all latest drivers and programs
.swapped my graphics card for same model different make same problem,i also used an older card which seem to run every thing fine it was a nvidia gts 450
.left side pannel of to double check the heat senario
.disable pc reboot when problems occure(still no BSOD just hardboots)
.tried lowering graphics performance in game and on desktop
.Uninstalled all overclock and monitoring software as this could have an effect
.Used different mouse and keyboard as razor lycosa keyboard and razor imperator mouse aparently cause hard boots (so i read)
.removed sound card and used onboard sound
.Tried other pci-e slot 16X
.tried each stick of 2gig ram one by one
.Power supply has been RMA'd and is due for delivery tomoz.
Its starting to get hard to remember all the things ive tried if any one can think of anything else that i have not mentioned please let me know as i am really desperate to put an end to this so so so annoying problem and ill let u know if it works or if ive tried it already.
