Safe/ normal temps for GPU

Hey guys,

I've been monitoring my GPU temps with afterburner lately and today my temps peaked at 70C and I was wondering if that's a safe temp?

I know they can go up to 98C (stated by Nvidia) but I wanted to know what's safe/ normal.

Also what classes as full load? I've read reviews for my card (EVGA GTX 770 SC ACX) and the temps at full load were around 69C. I understand that room temperature is a factor but is full load with furmark/ stress tests running or when gaming?

The 70C was in BF4 online. I have a backplate on my card and I haven't overclocked it (no GPU Boost 2.0 on either).

Yes 70c is safe its high but safe i have even reached 78-80c while playing watch dogs on my gtx 760 but good temps would be around 60-65c.

Yes room temperature and the case airflow affect the cards cooling.

Well they're normally around 60 - 65. I was just wondering if the 70 it got to was anything to worry about

No its totally fine.

No worries it's fine as long as it doesn't hit above 80 degrees

If they said 70C its safe, I think youll be fine at 42C...

If you want better cooling you can place a case fan on bottom of your GPU with the air flow towards gpu
