Safest Browser ?

That would be Tor. The safest conventional browser with tightest privacy is Firefox.
All the popular ones are good and safe, yes even Edge/Explorer. Just use what you like the best. I don't know which browser in particular is the safest though, but there shouldn't be much difference. You can also use an adblocker for even more safety if you don't already.

lol IE, Edge is supposedly not bad atm but hasn't been in the wild long enough to be thoroughly tested really. Firefox with the proper extensions to block ads and disable scripts. Most issues come from ads. And I disagree with durende, IE11 is terrible. I have to support inhouse people who use it and there are plenty of issues with it. It also supports so much legacy stuff, which is where the main security issues come from.

I use Opera, which is pretty secure and its obscure so less likely for things to be made to go through it. But I haven't really liked it as much since they moved from their inhouse presto engine to whatever they use now.

I would actually do a websearch and look for the most recent review from like a blackhat convention or something. A lot of the security comes from the settings you use on the browser, staying up to date, and not running it as admin and having an antivirus app

The browser is only as safe as the user.

Broswers that are not IE are marginally safer because they have proactive security updates and not reactive, and the other browsers flat out will support ActiveX.

Outside of that the "safety" all comes down to your browsing habits.

It maybe so tight that on every page you get a popup or a message window telling you something is blocked and will you authorize override? to drive u nuts.

My school says don't rely on imperfect software to save you. Somehow, sometime, a malware will sneak through, is just a matter of time. Maintain an OS image back up, and then you can be like Data on STTNG after being infected by alien software, finally got "reboot" and loaded his brain from protected memory. :)

Yup I am guilty. I run almost every blocker there is including noscript. Having to authorize every single script is a pain...especially when you do it temporarily and must do it every time the browser restarts. Still the more I look at these actual scripts the more I find internet sites spend more time tracking and recording stuff than they do providing the content.

Pretty much anyone who load ghostery the first time will quickly be persuaded that there are lots of bad things going on even on very reputable sites.

Dude please not Tor and i don't want to talk about Tor or download it ... It's sick mate .

There is nothing wrong or "sick" about Tor. It is just piece of software. Whatever whoever does with that software is an entirely different question. It is not the software, but the person behind it that you should be concerned about.

Kids shows and pornography both get edited in Premier Pro, but do you bash Premier for that?
