Question Safety regarding thermal paste application with spatula

Hi, It´s my first time repasting my system, I got some grizzly kryonaut which comes with a spatula, is there a big risk of getting air bubbles trapped or should I just go with the pea method?

I would do the pea method. If you want to use the spaula to spread the pea rather than your finger in a plastic bag (or glove) then go for it.

I'd agree with @kanewolf , pea method has always worked for me for desktop use

In laptops with bare dies, I prefer to thinly apply with spatula to give better coverage.

Personally I don’t know that I’m a fan of thermal grizzly. Some people love it. I personally like Arctic MX4. Put a dot in the center of the CPU and use my finger to spread it out over the surface. Never an issue doing it that way. But the composition of the thermal grizzly paste didn’t seem to be great for that, plus the cost.

either way is safe, if your not confident/experienced with how much to use when using the pea method, use the spread method and you'll know you'll have used enough to cover the whole surface
