No, it uses the 9500 non-pro 128-bit PCB. In fact, it is exactly a 9500 non-pro with the second revision chip (the R350 is rev2 of the R300, it has no new features that I know of, but relies instead on the driver).

The 9800se with a 128 bit memory interface is basically an overclocked Radeon 9500.

You *can* mod the 9800se to something like the 9500 PRO, increasing the pipelines from 4 to 8, with the mod. That will show a big increase in performance.

But the failure rate is around 50%... if it doeasn't work, you can uninstall the siftmod and use the card with only 4 pipelines. And you still might be able to overclock.

Try this link for the softmod:

I believe the Hercules AIW version has a 256 bit memory interface, and in it's case it CAN mod to a full 9800 non-pro with 8 pipelines and a 256 bit imemory interface.
But, once again, the failure rate is about 50%.

Nice Link! Wow, covers my bases, if its got 256 bit structure, it can go 9800/pro, then u can oc it... hm, and a non pro is just an under oc'ed pro? so i just need my hands on a 256bit 9800se? and hope im 50%? then, could i return it, get my cash, buy another somewhere else, n hope for the gamble again? they cant tell whats been softmodded or so the site says, and whats "hard"modding?

Yes, a 9800 non-pro is the same as a 9800 PRO, just clocked lower.

No-one can tell if you've used a softmod on a card, because the softmod is only a driver.

A hardmod involves soldering a tiny contact on the card... so it's kinda easy to tell if you've hardmodded. :)
