When I first plugged it in on it's normal settings, there was a strong green tint on EVERYTHING with this monitor. Right now I'm running red at 89, green at 29, blue at 59, and contrast is at 78. Everytime I try to mess with the color, it's impossible to get it to work, especially trying to get the grays to show up well. There's a white washed out color when I can get the colors pretty close. The grays are still a slight greenish color, but now there's hardly any gray depth; it's just washed out by white.
Also, my viewing angles are awful - a pinky/purple tint will show up if I slightly move my head to the side. I've been reading that it's pretty normal for this monitor (the bad viewing angles), but I don't think I should be having this much trouble getting it to show up it's true colors. Any advice would be wonderful and thank you guys in advance!

I have a single nvidia geforce GTX260 graphics card.
processor is an intel i7-920
i have 6gb ddr3 ram

Unfortunately you are going to have this problem with pretty much and TN panel display. If you want great color accuracy you are going to need to spend significantly more money to buy a display with a PVA or IPS panel. Usually the color accuracy on TN panels is adequate unless you're really sensitive.

For calibration I've had good luck using an image like this one http://www.drycreekphoto.com/images/Charts/MacbethCC-sRGB.jpg . Print out a copy on photo paper and then compare it to what is on the screen and adjust the monitor as necessary. You will probably need to adjust the color temperature, brightness, and gamma values in addition to the color balance so it will probably take several minutes of fiddling with it before you achieve satisfactory results. Good luck!

First of all, thank you so much for your reply. It's good to know my monitor isn't just broken. My monitor only has three different gamma settings, is this normal? I have the monitor connected to my laptop right now so I can compare this easily, thank you for the imagine. How can I make my grays darker without it changing to a different color? I have spent over hours trying to get it close. I'm not even sure which to start toggling with to get the grays better.
Also, when I lower my contrast the whole screen turns a dark reddish/pink, is this normal?
Thanks again!
