Sitting next to my computer trying to figure out why. I connected it via USB to my PC and it installed driver software successfully. I left it connected as I installed the disk software that came along with it. After the install it didn't detect the drive, and instead referred to it as 'ASMT 2115 USB Device (931.51GB)'. I've tried reinstalling the software to no avail and am absolutely lost on how to proceed. Need help ASAP!

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Solution

That "connect via USB" thing is only if you want to clone the C drive to the new SSD.
Just adding that drive...completely not necessary.

Open your case, and just connect it as just another internal drive via a SATA cable. No USB needed or wanted.
If necessary, go into Disk Management, right click on that new drive, and select "New Simple Volume". Then give it a drive letter.
This is a desktop installation. Also, in the user manual is says to connect the ssd via USB to the computer first, install the software then run it. After doing so I connected it up as I did my 840 evo which works fine, however it doesnt even show up as a hard drive.
