I have had this drive for around 6 months and it continues to register a high number writes in Crystal, around 1.5 GB per hour. i have used task manager, resource monitor, process explorer and none of those programs show much writing going on. i have system restore disabled and no paging file. i dont play games and I dont download or stream movies

Everyone says its ok and the drive will last but its still bugging me. Does anyone know if there is anything internal to an SSD that would bump up the writes without reporting anything to windows?

Thanks

Solution
There is wear leveling occurring on the SSD, not within your control, to ensure that all NAND cells wear at the same rate. Wear leveling involves moving cell contents around so it's included in the write count.
Total Host Writes - approx 1.5TB, in 1013 Power On hours.

"6 months", and 42 days actual powered on.

Extrapolate that "6 months" out to the warranty lifetime of 100TBW.
100/1.5 = 67 * 6 months = 400 months = 33 years before you run into the "warranty" limit.
I highly doubt you'll be using this drive in the year 2050.

I know, thanks for pointing out how ridiculous I'm being ....lol.....just curious is all at this point as to what is doing all of the writing, in spite of the fact that it wont affect the longevity....

Thanks

Thank you. that makes all the sense in the world
