[SOLVED] Samsung 870 QVO slow write speed ?

Hey.

I have gotten myself as a quick buy a Samsung 870 QVO 1tb SSD to use as a Windows drive because my previous one failed.
The write speed of this drive should be over 500mb/s but mine is only 88mb/s at max. ?

samsung magician gave me this benchmark after 1 hour:

sequential read 550mb/s
sequential write 85mb/s
random read 44433 iops
random write 20507 iops

motherboard is b450m pro4 asrock
ryzen 5 5600x cpu
rtx 3060ti gpu

no idea where to find that,

if write cache is the same as rapid mode in magician i tried turning it on but due to internal errors it turned itself off

No, NOT RAPID mode.

Right click on the drive in question - Properties
Policies
Verify that "Enable write caching on the device" is checked

This is the diff between on and off on an 860 EVO:

Not to worry.

SSD benchmarks will not reflect the way you actually use the drive.
Once any buffering is used up, the remaining writes will only proceed at the rate the nand chips can manage.
On the QVO units, that capability is not great.
But in actual use, writes come in small bursts.
Most of what windows does is small random reads, and the QVO does an excellent job at that.

I have read this before, but my pc becomes laggy at times.
Games like nfs heat or forza horizon are unplayable and windows is on this drive too.
This makes the PC lagg immensely
loading into games crashes pc sometimes too.
and getting games on a seperate drive gives same outcome, i have reinstalled windows twice now because i thought it was a windows error

done that, its at the latest version

are you testing with the samsung software?
so you did a fresh install since the last ssd failed? latest chipset driver?

If your ssd test results are similar to what USAFRet posted, I think your lag problems lie elsewhere.

Not sure what that means. However, the QLC write speed of the 1TB 870 QVO is approximately 80 MB/s, as seen here.
