Yeah, the board shares some SATA ports with M.2 so I had to set in BIOS to M.2.
However for some reason Active@Boot cloning sucks!
2nd time on a critical issue like that.
I downloaded a free EaseUS cloning and it cloned without any issues.

Been running 950 for 2 days now. Seems a bit snappier then 850 PRO.
Will do some more testing next week.

I installed a 950pro on an Asus Rampage V Extreme running an Intel I7-5960x cpu but am getting slower speeds than expected. It's fast... but not as fast as advertised. I'm still searching the web for clues on what the issue is.

Strangely the BIOS sees it as boot drive but doesn't see under the Advanced NVMe Configuration screen.

Running a clean installation of Win10...

Does anyone know if Windows 8.1 can be installed on the 950 at the first time of the motherboard is used. Or do we need to install an OS to format the ssd then reinstall the OS?

Windows 8.1 is UEFI. I installed it on Windows 10 (also UEFI) following the guidance of this YouTube video.

I have an ASUS Rapage V Extreme (x99). No it does not have to the operating system on it first. I found it better to perform a clean install.

It's a great add to your rig!
