[citation][nom]feeddagoat[/nom]2GHz dual core would be epic, especially if they gave you the option of down-clocking to 1GHz unless your playing something that requires that speed. For example browsing the web or watching a you tub vid doesn't need it tho fire up a game or a 1080p vid might. Think of the battery savings even some older phones used downclocked versions.[/citation]

The CPU will have it's clockspeed dynamically altered depending on load. At least, I would assume.

Now, as for the articles saying this "This product will have the data processing capacities of a regular PC", this is a straight lie.

Maybe equivalent to a 2GHZ pentium 2 (Yes, I said Pentium 2, the one after the Pentium Pro), but not a modern x86 2GHZ processor. Well maybe close to the atom 😉 but still a bit less I would think than the atom clock for clock.

It simply wouldn't be possible without a major jump in power usage / transistor count

Here is your answer(click spoiler):
You are wrong.. software is made for hardware and hardware is made for software, you do not understand the concept of evolution. They don't think they are smarter because they bought a faster phone, they think it is better and cooler.

I could also say the same thing about your post above :) .

You have no idea what you are talking about. A reason more why I stuff especially desktops, do not have powerful components inside. Thrust me that someone that knows what he wants and he has the money, he will get the thing that suits him best at what he needs it, better software or superior performance or all of them.

Also the fact that you are comparing an i-pad to a phone makes me proud to have a phone :lol: .

I thought it was 1.4Ghz.
Also reading the review on gsmarena.com when they compared SGS II with an LG model with tegra 2, the later one's platform should be superior. I hope that the prices will be the same. I will skip this generation anyway, going for the other one or the one after that, depending on how much my phone survives the daily abuse, i use it as a normal phone, drop it all day, throwing it with out any care and it still survives with flying colors, no problems at all and i even had a big crash with my bicycle and the handlebar hit the phone so hard that it made a deap-ish scratch on the back of the case near the jack input. Cases are cheap anyway :).

Ou, forgot to say to the first quote, there are also extended batteries for these phones so you can listen to music for 4-5 days also. :)

Lag in what circumstances? Or what are you doing when it lags?
