[citation][nom]mr_tuel[/nom]If the children are not doing dangerous work, then whats the problem? It is likely beneficial to their families to bring home more money. Sure school is better than work, but eating is better than school.[/citation]
Actually, this is China and only best and brightest kids are sent to school anyway.. They ship the others to the factories..

[citation][nom]di general[/nom]Yea, I don't quite get all these child labour laws, especially in the Western world. I started working when I was 6, most students here have jobs packing groceries, my dad started working when he was 5, bought a house at 18 (paid cash too). If a kid wants to work, let them, don't make it illegal, put the proper laws in place to protect them in the workplace; that's half the problem and leads to all this backwards crap.[/citation]

its not the workplace, its the parents, because there are parents who would force that on a kid and take the money.

child labor laws to me are stupid and need to be rewrite at least in the western world, where if the child younger than 16 is working, the money gets put in a bank account for them, that no one has access to until they are 18, because legally, until you are 18, your parents own you.

Under the age of 16! WHAT! And working!? Possibly "dangerous" work!? DEAR GOD! I mean.. we don't do that here in the West. Well.. minus a large number of our Olympic athletes, who start training at a very young age for acrobatics and other dangerous sports. Paper boys, and berry pickers don't count.. cause that's just a summer job right? RIGHT!? Nothing dangerous about those jobs.. no, assembling a cell phone is FAR FAR FARRRRRR more dangerous. We're not hypocrites though.

None of these companies should be doing this!

If this was Apple, all of the commenters above would not be making excuses...

Excuses and justifications to cover up hypocrisy.

Holy double standards, Batman. Foxconn isn't Apple. It is a contractor that makes parts for Apple (and Samsung, by the way). Yet people here were ready to crucify them. Now Samsung is using child labor in dangerous conditions and those children should be grateful to have a job? It is ok because it is China? I may not agree with all the politics, but China is a civilized country and you folks should be careful about throwing rocks from inside our glass house.

holy smokes the samsung fanboys are running wild in here. Stop making excuses, this shouldn't be tolerated at all. You're all being stupid.

What we have here sir is hypocrisy at its finest. This is why fanboys of any flavor should be avoided at all costs.

Now that the "child/slave-labor using evil Apple" club now includes Samsung, it's interesting to see some of the excuses made by ardent followers of Samsung. It's quite pathetic.

It doesn't make it okay for Samsung to use child labor. Especially when some of the commentators were the most critical of Apple for using Foxconn.
