The S4 has a decent display and decent battery life. ...and a replaceable battery. In the Element Eclipse 4 it even looks the part. What's not to like?

Well S4 is nice phone, but 600€ price is not so nice 🙂 So have to wait a couple of years and there may be a phone with same speck at 200€ price point.... propably not, but you can allways hope 🙂
In reality there will be a phone that has faster CPU/GPU combination, but worse screen and 1500mAh tiny battery... *sigh*

honestly, in the tablets they kind of are, you have them closer to you than a desktop or how most people use laptops

it kind of is, kind of isn't...

I have been searching for lower cost 1080p notebook recently so I happen to know a number of models which will cost lesser and with 1080p resolution. I do feel the same that those cheaper laptop should not have cost that much to replace their 720p screen with a 1080p though, but so far has seen no sign of anyone pairing a i3 or celeron class CPU with 1080p screen yet. As for the more expensive models, you can try these:

(not too recommend due to bad touchpad, unless you dont mind using amouse)

Pentile is still pretty good, especially given that we sense brightness through green.

If you don't like pentile, go beat up the camera people. For them, one pixel is one colour, and they stack them like pentile.

The Galaxy S4 is undisputed proof that pentile can be exceedingly awesome. I'm just pointing out the obvious.
