Is it possible to fix this without having to replace the display? Im gettin'g a oneplus 5 in a few days/weeks, I find the lines overbearing however, they're a bright annoying green.

This is a big drawback of phones with curved edge display.

No, i don't think it can be fixed and you would likely need to replace the display but at least you can backup your data.

Many people end up in a situation where they're not even able to recover their data.
