Hi everybody! I`d like to ask some help.
I`m trying to share video content to my samsung smart tv and I get stuck at setting up the Samsung Link app on my pc (windows 7).

So, the installation is succesful but when I try to open Samsung Link nothing happens. It shows in the tray and when i right click the icon in the tray and select login it redirects me to the samsung link page which keeps saying "Checking whether the or not the software is installed."

Here is a little video that I made of the problem.

Tried reinstalling it but it didn`t work.

try firefox or internet explorer

is your samsung link software up to date?
reboot system

just tried it myself, signed up, downloaded, installed and worked

is your internet connection enabled?

what anti virus software and firewall are you using?

don´t start two instances of Samsung link. rightcklick in Tray and Exit samsung link. Then try again starting link.

Tried rebooting, tried google chrome firefox and IE.None of them worked.
I also disabled the antivirus, anti-malware and firewall. Ofcourse my internet is enabled. :)

when you start link software, does the User Account Control window popup?
Try to run the software as administrator (rightclick on link and select "run as admin")

edit:
the up to date installer version of Samsung Link is: 2.0.0.1411061504

Hi, I was wondering if you found a solution to your Samsung link issue? I am having the same problem right now and I can't solve it. I've been in touch with Samsung IT for over three weeks now with no solution. I was just wondering if you figure out a solution to the same problem. Could you let me know please. Thank you

I didn't. I just plug an HDMI directly into my laptop. Completely unacceptable but I haven't found a solution.

Which additional software are you using?
Tools, tuning apps, registry cleaner, laptop manufacturer utilities....

Disabling anti virus or firewall might not be enough. Uninstall, reboot and test again.

Eventually the router blocks the connection

Thank you for your response helpstar. I am using a HP – PC, I'm not really sure what you mean by tuning apps. I have a register cleaner(CCleaner) may be it's not doing its job well. What kind of tools are you referring to? I have disabled my antivirus also my firewall, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several, several times. I just don't know why this is happening. I have had Samsung link on my PC for a year and it was working fine, all of a sudden I cannot access my account to open my Samsung link. Therefore Samsung doesn't work at all. When I log into my account I get the same window that is shown above. Asking me with two options 1. Install 2. How to run. Cannot close that window at all. Any suggestions please this is driving me nuts. Thank you!

I have the same window pop up on my laptop when signing into Samsung Link. Chose the "How to Run" button on the right because as you see to the left of that button is a description that "If you've already downloaded the PC software..." which I assume you have. Then a window pops up below that telling you to Rerun Samsung Link (I assume because the previous button disabled the connection) and then the pop up windows all go away.

So I got that far but the computer I want to see on my SmartTV through Samsung link shows up after I click that "How to Run" button but then disappears after Samsung Link reconnects when I rerun it.

I just did a software update to the SmartTV and I believe this is related. The s/w on my laptop does not indicate it needs to be updated according to the Samsung Link page. But today I cannot connect to this computer through Samsung Link site any longer. I get an error message "There is a problem with the network connection. Try again later". So I'm back to thinking this is my router and with the upgrade to my TV it has messed something up.

Yes, I've tried all the suggestions above, and I've searched around on Google, but not much information out there on this issue. It's really got me puzzled. I can't understand why it isn't working. I can see the page 'connecting . . .' every few seconds when I click 'how to run', but nothing happens after I start 'Samsung Link Menu Start.exe'. I've tried running Samsung Link.exe directly, but no joy there either. The installation version I'm getting from http://link.samsung.com/ is: 2.0.0.1503181422

Also just downloaded and installed the older version of the software 1.8.0.140117024. Same issue.

contact Samsung, for now, none could solve the issue
all Windows updates installed, deactivate third party addons, firewalls, antivirus, update all drivers, flash player, .net framework, Java, browser, firmware of connected devices
test with another laptop or PC

I've contacted Samsung support. Will post back here with the outcome .

Here is what worked for us. We are using windows 7 on a HP Laptop that was running AllShare, previously. After installing Samsung Link we kept getting the same message you are getting. In order to remove the message we had to:

-Uninstall Samsung Link
-Use task manager to end processes for AllShare connection between all devices (TVs, PC, etc.)
-Uninstall ALL AllShare files and folders
-Restart computer
-Reinstall Samsung Link
-use link.samsung.com/main/install.do to login and register your computer

This worked for us. The message is gone and Samsung Link now works. Hope this helps with your issue.
