Hi guys,

What do you prefer? I used to have both installed but then i realized Samsung Magician isn't that MAGICAL as it claims. My Intel 8 Series / c220 Rapid Storage Technology driver 12.(something) just seems to do a lot better.

Here are the screen shots:

With SM installed:

Without SM, only Intel Rapid Storage installed:

What are your thoughts and preference?

Thanks :)

Could you please post the test results? Maybe it performs better on a different computer?!

I am just testing a few things out here. I even tested my computer on just basic Windows drivers, and it performed outstandingly, i mean much better than with drivers by manufacturer installed. I believe manufacturers are being lucrative by collecting data through their alterations in drivers. nVIDIA's latest GE is a prime example of it. But then, I could be wrong too... oh well, would appreciate if you could post your test results. Any benchmark software you prefer, I just want to compare them with different settings.

Thanks, man.

They aren't even remotely the same thing. Intel's RST is a driver with support for RAID and multiple drives.

Samsung's Magician software is just an SSD toolbox with the neat trick of RAPID ( RAM caching ) mode. RAPID mode looks great in benchmarks and doesn't do much in the real world.

The latest version of the Magician software doesn't even allow for OS optimization as Windows 10 is already optimized for solid state.

Thank, man. I will read into it. :sarcastic:

You should be using a real benchmarking tool if you want to measure drive performance.

AS SSD will give you real numbers not something arbitrarily made up.

2 runs on my system. Just different days. Notice the variation. The numbers on that Userbenchmark site will change every time you run it.

Also note that a SSD will never score identically on any benchmark. Just by running a benchmark you are going to slow the drive down for a while. AS SSD will give you the most accurate measurement. There is also a performance benchmark built into the Magician software. It's not as complete as AS SSD though.

My oh my, look at those numbers.... what a fast PC you have! :pt1cable:
My potato was once fresh and speedy too, but now, it's just another rotten potato. :pfff:

Your RAM is great. My RAM stats are way below, like 60% 🙁 .....Is DDR4 that fast?

Compared to what? UserBenchmark is just a collection of synthetic benchmarks. It's fast at synthetic benchmarking programs. You need real world benchmarks if you want it to mean anything.

Your results on RAM are excellent.:ange: Mine never surpasses 60% with a 'Good' standing. :sarcastic:My DDR3 1600mhz feels like the slowest component in this ASUS garbage PC! :pfff:

Take my advice, never ever buy pre-built gaming PC from ASUS. They rip you off left and right... leaving you vulnerable and wounded right after the warranty/guarantee expires. 😀

P.S. Why TomHardware doesn't have that famous banana dancing emoticon on here? :fou: I love using it! :pt1cable:
